Fighter wears the skimpiest weigh-in outfit in boxing history - and champ Ebanie Bridges loves it
Boxer Sulem Urbina is used to turning heads inside the ring on her way to compiling a 13-1 record – but this week she was turning them at her weigh-in as she stripped down to a barely-there bikini ahead of her first bout in New York.
The 32-year-old will clash with Indeya Smith on Wednesday in what shapes as a landmark fight for her as she lives out her dream of punching on in the Big Apple.
But regardless of the result, she made a big impression as she stood on the scales in a bikini with two daring cut-outs on her chest and just above her groin.
Her fans were quick to show their appreciation when she posted an image and video of the occasion to Instagram – and Aussie boxer Ebanie Bridges was among them, responding with several fire emojis and the words ‘love thisss’.

The Mexican-born slugger has amassed a 13-1 record with three knockouts as she makes her way up the bantamweight rankings
The current IBF bantamweight world champion is no stranger to causing controversy by wearing very little at her weigh-ins, as she showed shortly before her crushing TKO victory over fellow Aussie Shannon O’Connell earlier this month.
Bridges stripped down to her lingerie on that occasion and her habit of wearing skimpy underwear on the scales led her opponent to brand her a ‘skanky stripper’.
O’Connell regretted those remarks in the ring, where she was knocked down by a huge right hand in the third before being so badly battered the referee was forced to step in and end the contest in round eight.
‘That’s how it’s done, nothing like shutting up a bully – so satisfying,’ she wrote on Instagram after the win.

Rising star Urbina (left) has come a long way since growing up as an undocumented immigrant in Arizona
Urbina – who has racked up three knockouts in her 13 wins – has risen from growing up as an undocumented immigrant in Arizona to fulfilling one of her lifetime ambitions as she climbs up the bantamweight ranks.
‘When I was a kid I remember watching fights all over the world and it was only a dream for me to do that because I was undocumented as a child,’ she said.
‘Now that I’m living the dream of being able to travel all over the world and fight, I feel extremely blessed.’
