Dean Cain on Brooke Shields Losing Her Virginity: "We Were in Love"
Merry ExMas, indeed! Dean Cain spoke to the Today show recently about his ex-girlfriend Brooke Shields, who wrote about losing her virginity to him in her memoir, There Was a Little Girl: The Real Story of My Mother and Me.
“Brooke is a wonderful, wonderful girl,” Cain, 48, said earlier this week. “We were college sweethearts and she’s obviously written the whole book.”
Shields, 49, revealed in her memoir that she was a 22-year-old student at Princeton when she slept with Cain for the first time ever. “Mom was unjustly judgmental of our romantic relationship and she feared it on a deeper level,” she wrote of her late mother and former manager, Teri Shields.
“It should have been what I had wished for myself, but in an instant, guilt slapped me in the face,” Shields continued of the intimate moment with Cain, who would later play Superman in Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman. “I got so overwhelmed that I jumped out of my bed… I was buck naked, streaking down a hallway and running as if I had just stolen someone’s wallet.”

According to Shields, Cain ran after her with a comforter. “He threw it around, grabbed me around my shoulders and stopped me from running,” she wrote.
Cain told Kathie Lee and Hoda Kotb that he’s read parts of the memoir, adding that he found it “really insightful” and “raw.”
As for the now-well-known story of their first time having sex? “I don’t think a girl loses her virginity,” Cain mused. “They give it… I mean, we were in love. She was a wonderful girl.”
